Tūranga Ararau was established as an Iwi Authority in 1986 to promote and support the Iwi of Tūranganui a Kiwa – Rongowhakaata, Ngai Tamanuhiri and Te Aitanga a Mahaki.
Tūranga Ararau is the Iwi tertiary education provider of Te Runanga O Tūranganui a Kiwa, our rohe encompasses Tūranganui a Kiwa (Gisborne) and the western rural environments with a population of over 40,000 of whom 45% identify as Māori.
We provide and promote quality and responsive programmes and services focussed on the unique needs of Iwi and regional economic and cultural development
We are measured by quality outcomes of qualifications, employment and advanced learning specifically aligned to Iwi and regional economic and cultural development.
