Update on the month of April here at Turanga Ararau
Kia Ora Whanau,
It has been a very busy month for us and our students with 44 staff and students taking the stage at Tamararo. It was an awesome event and we are very proud of all who participated as we had a lot of first time performers taking the stage. We would just like to thank all our performers for the awesome hard work they put in to practices, 4 weeks of full on practicing and rehearsing was all worth it in the end as we could proudly sit and watch their performance. Also, a big mihi to the tutors who helped our team succeed on the stage, ka rawe koutou. All our performers and stage crew were decked out with a Poppy as it was Anzac Day that same weekend.
Which brings us to our next event, Anzac Day dawn parade. We had some of our students and staff attend the dawn parade for Anzac Day honouring all those soldiers who fought for our country.
We also had our Rangakura (Bachelor of Primary School Teaching) whanau here on campus for their week wananga where they had full on classes jam packed with lots of mahi towards their tohu. We had students come in to stay on campus from all over the motu, from as far as Ruatoki Whakatane. Awesome Mahi whanau.
Our hospitality course has been busy catering for our Kaumatua Hui we host at our campus. All students had provided our Kaumatua and Kuia with a fabulous lunch. Great efforts from our Tauira.
That sums up our busy month here at Turanga Ararau, we are still enrolling students so if you have any youth or students at home wanting to look into a course then send them down to our office on the Corner of Kahutia and Bright street or give us a call on 0508 38 38 38 and enrol today.
Mauri ora.
